About Us

Established in 1966, The Gure Txoko is a cultural club (Euskal Etxea) which aims

  • Promote Basque culture
  • Be a centre for Basque’s and their friends to socialise

Every Sunday the Gure Txoko has a lunch for it’s members and their guests, prepared by volunteer chefs in the spirit of the typical Basque gastronomical society.

On Monday nights, there are Basque language lessons for all levels. Teaching is conducted in a tutorial style manner using computer aided teaching (BOGA) and other materials.

The library is the biggest collection of Basque related materials in Australia, and is available to members.

The Fronton (handball court) is a smaller version of a typical handball court found in the Basque Country.
